Ever fancied getting your hands gloriously dirty for a good cause, without the pressure of making your own garden look presentable. The Growing Food for Wildlife Project is happening on Saturday 12 July 2025, from 10am to 12pm. You can pitch in with planting, weeding, and composting, all under the expert eye of folks who actually know their stuff. No prior experience is needed, so don't fret if your green thumb is still finding its way. It's a cracking chance for a bit of a yarn and to pick up some new skills.
This gathering is a fantastic opportunity to get familiar with native gardening, suss out local plant species, and learn about our neighbourhood wildlife. On the cards is usually a casual chat about the flora and fauna, a spot of weeding (think of it as free therapy), some watering, general tidying up, and getting new plants settled into their homes. The best bit is you'll be helping to harvest actual tucker for the local wildlife currently on the mend. It's completely free, you just need to book your spot via Humanitix. Find us at the Randwick Sustainability Hub, 27 Munda Street, Randwick.
