Kids in school years 3 to 6 can channel their inner builder at Hammer Mayhem, a string art session where they safely hammer nails into wooden boards and loop colourful yarn around them to create quirky designs. Its a low key way to burn off holiday fidgetiness while picking up some coordination, confidence and creative flair, without any actual mayhem ensuing.

The free event runs on Friday 10 April 2026 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Lionel Bowen Library, 69/673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra. Bookings are essential online, so snag a spot before the hammers are all spoken for.
