Join us for an illustrated talk by Richard White, surveying a range of Australia's national symbols.

From formal to popular, commercial to humorous, Richard will examine their origins, meanings, and how they have evolved over time. Despite the desire to view these symbols as immovable, they constantly shift, reflecting cultural changes. During the four years of editing and updating the new edition of Symbols of Australia, originally published in 2010, it was challenging to keep up with these shifts.
