Hang out with illustrator and graphic designer Matthew Lin for a chill session where you'll dive into the ins and outs of anime and manga drawing. You'll learn how to bring your art to life with tricks for showing speed, movement, light, power, and even shiny metal surfaces without turning everything into a shiny blob. Matthew will also spill the beans on manga's secret code—from the shape of speech bubbles and quirky sound effects, to line thickness and how blank spaces can tell a story better than words.

This is perfect for anyone aged 13 to 18 who's just starting out, a bit seasoned, or simply a fan of all things anime and manga. Don't worry about bringing your own gear—all the materials are covered. It's happening at Woollahra Library in Double Bay on the morning of Monday 7 July 2025, and it won't cost you a cent.
