If your bookshelves are looking a bit bare for the colder months, here is a chance to fix that without having to skip any meals. The Randwick City Library is hosting its Winter Book Sale, and they have hundreds of titles at prices that won't make you wince. You can either pay the marked price, or if you are feeling adventurous, grab one of their special bags and fill it for a tenner. Yes, that is ten dollars for as many books as you can cram in. The bag is supplied by the library, so no sneaking in your own oversized tote. Entry is free, which is always nice.

The sale runs over three days at the Margaret Martin Library, Level 1, Royal Randwick Shopping Centre, 73 Belmore Road, Randwick. Saturday 4 July from half past nine in the morning until four in the afternoon, Sunday 5 July from midday until four, and Monday 6 July from half past nine until midday. Perfect for stocking up on winter reading without the guilt.
