If youre looking for a bit of Halloween mischief in the Eastern Suburbs, theres this free event for kids in school years K through 6 where they can channel their inner Dr Frankenstein and cobble together a spooky monster from whatever bits and bobs are on hand. Its basically a low-stakes contest to see who can whip up the creepiest creation, with a prize for the winner thatll probably involve more eerie fun than actual usefulness.

Alongside the monster-making, expect the usual suspects like face painting to turn little ones into pint-sized ghouls, some tasty Halloween snacks that might include suspiciously orange treats, plus music for dancing awkwardly and games to burn off that sugar rush. Bookings are a must online, so dont turn up empty-handed on Friday 31 October 2025 from 4pm to 5.30pm at Margaret Martin Library on Level 1 of Royal Randwick Shopping Centre in Belmore Road, Randwick.
