Head to Lionel Bowen Library in Maroubra for a laidback screening of Robot Dreams, the silent flick where a lonely dog cobble together a robot mate for some city escapades. They subway surf, hit Chinatown for eats, and roller skate through Central Park like pros, until one beach night forces Dog to ditch his buddy. Cue the will they wont they tension that tugs at the heartstrings without a single bark or beep.

Rock up at 2pm to tinker with your own windup robot, then settle in at 2:30pm for the movie with juice pops and snacks on hand, or bring your own stash. Its free for all ages on Friday 9 January 2026 from 2pm to 4:15pm. Bookings required online.
