If you're heading to Schoolies and want practical safety skills without the scare stories, this hands on workshop for girls focuses on straightforward, streetwise tactics. The session covers safety strategies for parties, travel and nights out, ways to set boundaries and use your voice with confidence, simple scripts and role plays to diffuse tense situations, easy to remember self defence techniques you will actually use, and how to identify, respond to and report unsafe people and behaviour. Think less martial arts montage and more sensible moves you will still recall at 2 am.

It runs on Saturday 8 November 2025 from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm at Margaret Martin Library, Level 1, Royal Randwick Shopping Centre, Belmore Road, Randwick. Cost is $59 for a parent and student pair. Bookings are via Schoolies Workshop KYUP Project.
